Follow this article to learn how to chat with audience segments in Action Chat.

After discovering or building an audience, Action Chat allows you to continue exploring that audience through a natural language conversation. Rather than presenting static audience information, the AI enables you to ask follow-up questions, investigate audience characteristics, and uncover additional insights as your analysis evolves. This conversational approach helps you better understand the audiences that matter most to your business while allowing you to refine your marketing strategy without creating additional reports or restarting your analysis.

Before You Begin

Before chatting with audience segments, make sure you have:

  • Access to Audiense Action.
  • Switched to the Chat experience.
  • Started a conversation and identified an audience or selected an audience segment to explore.

Open an Audience Conversation

  • Begin by opening an existing conversation or starting a new one in Action Chat.

    • If you've already identified a Primary Audience or selected an audience from the Segment Library, continue that conversation to learn more about the audience.

Ask Questions About Your Audience

Use natural language to ask questions about the selected audience segment.

As part of the conversation, Action Chat analyzes the audience and provides recommendations and explanations based on your requests.

For example, you can continue exploring:

  • Audience characteristics.
  • Audience behaviors.
  • Marketing opportunities.
  • Additional recommendations.
  • Related audience segments.

There is no required format—simply ask the AI what you'd like to know.


Review the AI's Insights

Action Chat responds with audience insights and recommendations that build upon the existing conversation. Because the AI remembers the context of your discussion, each response becomes more relevant as you continue asking follow-up questions. Rather than receiving a one-time result, you can continue refining your understanding of the audience throughout the conversation.


Continue Refining Your Analysis

Audience exploration is designed to be iterative. As you review the AI's recommendations, continue asking follow-up questions to investigate different aspects of the audience or request additional recommendations. You can continue exploring until you have the information needed to support your marketing objectives.


Expand Your Audience Research

As your conversation develops, Action Chat may recommend additional audience segments that are relevant to your analysis. These recommendations provide opportunities to expand your research and better understand related audiences without leaving the conversation. If you'd like to investigate another audience in more detail, simply continue asking questions or begin exploring one of the recommended segments.
