Social Listening Integration with Puvlic
Learn how Audiense Insights integrates with Puvlic to connect social listening platforms with audience intelligence, allowing you to analyze the audiences behind online conversations.
Overview
Follow this guide to learn how to use Puvlic to integrate your social listening platform with Audiense Insights.
While social listening tools help you understand what people are talking about, Audiense Insights helps you understand who is behind those conversations. By combining the two, you can move beyond conversation analysis to explore audience characteristics such as affinities, personality, media preferences, online habits, and audience segmentation.
Puvlic acts as a bridge between supported social listening platforms and Audiense Insights, allowing audience data to be transferred automatically for further analysis.

Why Integrate Social Listening with Audiense Insights?
Social listening platforms are designed to monitor conversations, trends, hashtags, and brand mentions across social media. While these tools provide valuable information about the conversations themselves, they typically provide limited insight into the audiences participating in those discussions. Audiense Insights complements social listening by helping you understand:
- Audience affinities
- Personality characteristics
- Media preferences
- Online habits
- Audience segments and communities
Likewise, once Audiense identifies audience clusters within a conversation, you may want to explore what each of those segments is discussing. Combining both platforms allows you to move seamlessly between conversation analysis and audience intelligence.
How the Puvlic Integration Works
Puvlic serves as an intermediary between your social listening platform and Audiense Insights. Instead of manually exporting and importing audience data between systems, Puvlic transfers the audience behind a social listening query directly into Audiense Insights for analysis. Within Puvlic, your available social listening queries are displayed on the main dashboard. Each query includes an Analyze option. Selecting Analyze automatically sends the audience associated with that query to Audiense Insights, where an Insights report can be generated.
Note: The selected query must contain X (formerly Twitter) authors only.
Once the audience has been analyzed in Audiense Insights, you can manually export audience or segment members as an XLS file and import those author lists back into your social listening platform if additional analysis is required.
