# Demographics in TikTok Insights Reports
## Learn how demographic insights are generated and interpreted within Audiense Insights TikTok reports, including age, gender, language, and location analysis across audience clusters.
### **Overview**
Demographic insights help provide a foundational understanding of who exists within each audience cluster.
TikTok Insights currently surfaces demographic analysis related to age, gender, language, and location. All demographic attributes are inferred using profile signals, bio analysis, and available audience data.
#### **Age Insights:**
Age insights group users into predefined age ranges, including:
- 13–17
- 18–24
- 25–34
- 35–44
- 45–54
- 55–64
- 65+
The penetration score associated with each age range helps identify whether a cluster skews toward younger or older audiences. This can help organizations better understand audience maturity and generational characteristics across audience communities.
#### **Gender Insights:**
Gender insights are inferred using profile-level signals and biography analysis. The penetration scores displayed for gender help identify whether a cluster strongly skews toward a particular gender or contains a more balanced audience composition. These insights can help support audience targeting, persona development, and campaign planning workflows.

Language insights identify the primary languages associated with users in each cluster based on profile and biography analysis. This can help surface linguistic or culturally connected audience communities and identify multilingual audience patterns across segments.

Location insights are inferred using profile signals and biography text analysis. Because TikTok does not provide a standardized structured location field, Audiense analyzes available audience text and profile information to estimate likely geographic locations. Location data is currently available at the country and city level. These insights help organizations understand whether audience communities are concentrated within specific regions or distributed across multiple geographic markets.

### **Bio Keywords in TikTok Insights Reports**
Bio keywords represent the words and phrases most commonly used within the TikTok profile biographies of users inside each audience cluster. Because users intentionally write their own biographies, bio keywords provide direct insight into how audience communities describe themselves and identify publicly. These insights can help reveal audience identity patterns, shared language, creator communities, lifestyle themes, and self-described interests.
#### **Interpreting Bio Keywords:**
The penetration score associated with each bio keyword shows the percentage of users within the cluster who use that term in their profile biography. Keywords with higher penetration scores are generally more defining for the audience segment.
For example, a cluster dominated by keywords such as:
- “fitness coach”
- “marathon runner”
- “plant-based”
may represent a very different audience community than a cluster centered around:
- “content creator”
- “travel blogger”
