Create a LinkedIn Ads Account to be able to run reports in DI for LinkedIn

To unlock DI for LinkedIn, you must first connect your LinkedIn Ads account.
This is because DI for LinkedIn uses your ad account’s connection to securely access LinkedIn’s first-party audience and engagement data via the LinkedIn APIs.

By linking your Ads account, Audiense can:

  • Authenticate with LinkedIn and pull the data needed for audience analysis.
  • Enrich your reports with LinkedIn’s professional demographic, engagement, and targeting insights.
  • Ensure compliance with LinkedIn’s data policies by running the analysis through your authorized advertising account.

Without this connection, Audiense cannot retrieve the necessary data from LinkedIn, meaning DI for LinkedIn reports cannot be generated.

Option A: Create Ads Account via Campaign Manager

This approach is the fastest:

  1. Log in to LinkedIn with an account that has admin access to your company’s Page.

  2. Navigate to Campaign Manager.

  3. Click “Create account”.

  4. Provide:

    • Account name (for internal reference)

    • Your LinkedIn Page

    • Currency (note: this cannot be changed later)

    • Billing country

  5. Set up your billing method (credit card or invoice if eligible).

  6. Your Ads account is now ready to connect with DI for LinkedIn via Audiense.

 

Option B: Create Ads Account via Business Manager

Use this option when you:

  • Manage multiple Pages or ad accounts,

  • Work with external partners (e.g., agencies),

  • Or need centralized billing and permissions control.

Steps:

  1. Go to LinkedIn Business Manager.

  2. Click “Create Business Manager” and input:

    • Business name

    • Business email

  3. Add your LinkedIn Pages.

  4. Create or attach your ad account.

  5. Invite team members and assign roles (e.g., Admin, Campaign Manager, Creative Manager).

  6. Configure billing settings.

  7. Once set up, you can link this ad account to use DI via Audiense.
