# Connect an Audiense MCP to a Copilot Studio agent

## Learn how to add an Audiense MCP server as a tool in a Microsoft Copilot Studio agent, so the agent can work with your Audiense reports.

### **Overview**

Follow this guide to learn how to Connect an Audiense MCP to a Copilot Studio agent

#### **Before you begin**

In Microsoft Copilot, Audiense MCPs are added to an agent in [Copilot Studio](https://copilotstudio.microsoft.com/), as one of the agent's tools. Once added, anyone using the agent can ask it about Audiense data.

**You need:**

- Access to Copilot Studio, with permission to create or edit an agent. If you don't have it, ask your Microsoft 365 administrator.
- An Audiense account with access to the application you want to connect.
- The server URL of the Audiense MCP you want to add. Find it in *Audiense MCP Endpoints and Availability*.

Use the URL that ends in `/mcp`. Copilot Studio does not support URLs that end in `/sse`.

The steps below use Audiense Insights as an example. They are the same for any Audiense MCP: only the name and URL change.

### **Add the MCP server**

- In Copilot Studio, open your agent and go to the Build tab.
- In the panel on the right, click + next to Tools. The *Add a tool* window opens.
- Select the MCP tab, then click + Add at the top right.``
- The *Add MCP server* form opens. Fill in:
    - **Server name:** the Audiense application, for example *Audiense Insights*.
    - **Server description:** what the agent can do with it, for example *Audience intelligence reports from Audiense Insights*. The agent uses this description to decide when to use the tool, so be specific.
    - **Server URL:** the MCP URL from the endpoints article, for example `https://mcp-audiense-insights.audiense.net/mcp`.
- Leave Authentication set to OAuth 2.0 and Configuration type set to Dynamic (with discovery). You don't need a client ID or secret.``
- Click Add.

### **Create the connection**

- The *Select a connection* window opens. As this is the first time, there is no connection yet. Open the Connection list and select Create new connection.
- In *Creating a connection*, you can change the Display name (optional). By default it is the server name followed by *Copilot Connection*. Click Create.
- A window from Audiense opens: *MCP Server – Authorization Request*. If you are not signed in to Audiense, sign in first. Then click Allow Access. ``

Only approve an authorization request that you started yourself. If you did not start it, click Deny.

### **Add the tool to the agent**

- Back in *Select a connection*, the connection now shows a green tick. Click Add.
- A confirmation appears, for example *Audiense Insights added*, and the tool is listed under Tools. Click Review tool to see what it can do.

### **Check that it works**

Open the Preview tab and ask the agent for your reports, for example:

> *What are my Audiense Insights reports?*

If the agent lists your reports, the connection is working.

### **Add more Audiense applications**

Each Audiense application is a separate tool. To add another one, repeat the steps with its name and URL.

When an agent has several Audiense tools, say in your prompt which application to use, for example *"In Audiense Insights, summarize my report \[Report name\]"*. This keeps answers focused and avoids mixing data from different applications.

### **Troubleshooting**

| **What you see** | **Likely cause** | **What to do** |
| --- | --- | --- |
| The server cannot be added, or the connection fails | The URL ends in `/sse` or has a typo. | Copy the `/mcp` URL from *Audiense MCP Endpoints and Availability*. |
| The authorization window does not open | Your browser blocked the pop-up. | Allow pop-ups for Copilot Studio and try again. |
| The agent says it cannot find your reports | You signed in with a different Audiense account, or the report belongs to someone else. | Check which account you used in the authorization window. Remove the connection and create it again with the right account. |
| The agent mixes data from several applications | The prompt does not say which application to use. | Name the Audiense application in your prompt. |
