What is MCP?
Learn what Model Context Protocol (MCP) is and how it helps you explore Audiense data and reports using natural language and AI-powered analysis.
Overview
Each Audiense application includes its own Model Context Protocol (MCP), a powerful way to interact with your Audiense reports using AI.
MCP acts as a bridge between AI and your Audiense data, allowing you to ask questions about your reports in plain language and receive relevant, contextual insights without manually navigating reports or analyzing data yourself. Rather than searching through dashboards or exporting data, MCP enables a more conversational approach to exploring audience insights, trends, and report findings.
How MCP Works
MCP is often described as a "USB-C port for AI" because it creates a standardized connection between AI tools and your Audiense data.
When you ask a question, the MCP accesses the relevant information from your Audiense reports and returns an AI-generated response based on the available data.
For example, you can ask questions such as:
- Which audience segment is most engaged with this topic?
- What interests are most common within this audience?
- Which clusters are most likely to respond to a specific campaign?
- What are the key differences between these audience groups?
The MCP uses the same underlying data available within the Audiense platform but presents it through a conversational AI experience.
Benefits of Using MCP
MCP helps simplify how users interact with audience intelligence and report data. Key benefits include:
No Technical Knowledge Required:
You do not need to use APIs, write code, manage authentication keys, or perform any technical setup.
If you can type a question, you can use MCP.
Faster Access to Insights:
Instead of manually reviewing dashboards and report tabs, MCP allows you to quickly explore your data through natural language queries.
Works with Existing Audiense Data:
MCP does not require additional data sources or separate reporting workflows. It uses the same report data and audience intelligence available within your Audiense application.
Security and Privacy
MCP is designed to operate using aggregated and summarized report data.
It does not expose individual-level records, personal information, or raw source data. Instead, responses are generated from audience-level insights, trends, and analysis already available within the platform. This approach helps ensure that data remains secure while allowing users to explore insights through AI-powered conversations.
